What is the Local School Governance Team?
- The Local School Governance Team (or LSGT) is a local decision-making body used in Georgia school districts that operate as a charter system, as we do in Catoosa County Public Schools. The main goal of the LGST it to allow schools to decision-making power at the school level.
Who makes up the LGST?
- Team members include the school principal, teacher and staff representatives, and parent and community members.
What are their responsibilities?
- Approve the school’s strategic plan and school improvement plan
- Provide input on the school’s budget
- Advise of school policies, curriculum, and family engagement

Meeting Dates
All regularly scheduled meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 12:00pm (noon), except for the first meeting. The first LSGT meeting will be held in-person at Heritage Middle School, at 3:30 PM. All subsequent meetings will be either in-person or held virtually via Google Meets, to be determined at the previous meeting.
